Free PG coaching Online India - FMGE perspective of NEET PG

Hello friends,
I was busy preparing and giving this infamous NEET exams.I shall tell you the experience and the mistakes i did so that you can avoid it in your life.

1. Start Early

First and foremost, always start your preparation early. In India , people start their pg preparations around 2nd or 3rd year MBBS. They would have attending 2 or more coaching classes before they join for a coaching during internship and get ranks immediately once they finish internship.
While WE ( majority of us FMGE) probably start our coaching only during MCI screening test times.

Advantages of NEET

  1. Conducted by NATBOARD ( popularly and lovingly referred to as nut-board by many because i think they would have screwed up many students life this time!)
  2. This is the same board which conducted MCI Screening test . So guess What, no difference in preparation for PG and MCI screening test, only the degree of your preparation varies ie:- In case you are thorough even with small subjects (ortho, anesthesia, derma, psychiatry , radio ) you would probably ace in NEET PG.
  3. No more shading , no more OMR. Process of writing exam is simpler. Just for those of you who are in stone age and wondering what the hell is this "computer?" only you guys are going to find it a bit difficult.
  4. Number of seats would increase.
Disadvantages of NEET

  1.  MCI screening test was just about passing. So not difficult to get 150/300, but NEET PG is competition. Getting rank is way more difficult.
  2. The scaling system is not easily understandable, and hence unpredictable. For instance a person getting 200/240 in an easy paper will be same as 160/240 in a tough paper. Hard to understand right? that is what i am going trough Right now!

My Experience and my mistakes

I finished my internship in august, but started my coaching classes in bhatia earlier. But i missed few classes due to my internship postings. Overall i got 2.5 months to prepare for NEET pg, since exams got preponed by over a month. ( Normally they conduct AIPGMEE in last sunday of JAN) but this time they conducted in Nov-23th to Dec 6th. Sundays are holidays for NEET PG.

They conducted a DNB exam on 17th - 20th november. The NBE conducts DNB exam just during the time of AIIMS. Everyone who wrote DNB have some advantage as questions get repeated in NEET PG.

Read my earlier post about how o apply.

Problems faced
  1. Since i did not have my MCI permanent registration yet, and it was required in the documents required to be brought in the test day. Few tensions in getting this matter resolved. Finally understood that it was not required. Attested photocopy of NBE screening test result with the original and MCI acknowledgment number of having submitted was enough.
  2. Preparation time was very less. Had to leave short subjects. Proved costly during exam.

My overall expectations

I have extrapolated my rank to be around 3000, based on my calculations of my mark. If the seats are increased, i am expecting MD pulmonary medicine (thoracic medicine ) at my rank. Which i shall take in my first counselling and wait , to see if i can get second counselling MD gen med. As i said, it depends on scaling of the question paper.

All of you guys try and write DNB exam as questions get repeated in NEET PG. During the 10 days of test, very few questions get randomly repeated.

NDA Disclosure:-   BE careful guys, dont get into Trouble. This Will be the END of an ERA for Mudit Khanna and Amit ashish as no more question paper recall can come out.
For those of you who are wondering what NDA is , it is Non disclosure agreement which you have to agree prior to taking the NEET PG and DNB test. You are not allowed to discuss the questions which you have received.

People in small groups are bound to discuss though. But don't do anything stupid to post questions online. At-least if you do be intelligent enough  and don't get caught!

Free PG Coaching Online- Free Forensic medicine test paper, NEET paper, Grand Test paper

Hello friends,
i am posting the forensic test i took up.It had some repeat questions from the practice paper i put up earlier.
Even though Forensic paper seemed easy i made some silly mistakes.
Try it out.

The NEET PG paper, contains lot of photo questions. One question 41 , didn't have the photo associated.
Though it seemed too easy at first, getting all questions correct was difficult.

Generally I think this happens with everyone who is preparing  hard, and writing tests- (or maybe just me!)  ; i always doze off reading these big questions and by the time i reach 100 questions, i`m already bored , hungry, sleepy and sometimes depressed if i don't know any questions in the first page!

All india test - Free PG coaching

Hello friends,
This is Dr.Bharath, I am a  young aspirant like any other who would like to get a PG seat in India.
The cost of PG seat in India ( the famous unofficial capitation fee - ranges from Rs.70 lakh to Rs.1 crore!)
This is ridiculously high. Obviously as it cannot be proved, it cannot be stopped.
I always keep wondering, what people can do with Rs.1 crore per student!

As the famous saying goes
"India is a rich country, Indians are poor!"

And plus the huge competition, forces us to take Coaching class because the stupid usual Undergraduate curriculum we study ( except few good colleges, AIIMS etc )  usually give essay type questions instead of  MCQ patterns. So we have to go for a coaching class , just to get oriented and to get a seat. So Coaching classes have become hot business, everyone is interested in opening a coaching class! The good one's are charging from Rs.34000(bhatia chennai) to Rs.70000( Bhatia delhi)[ in 2012; i am a bhatia student]

So in essence, we only keep spending till we finish PG course. It is such a pitiable state. So i am going to start freepgcoaching.blogspot.com where i am going to essentially teach whatever i have learnt from the different coaching classes i have attended. This is the least i can do for helping my fellow medicos, who cannot afford to go for PG classes and stagnate and die as MBBS in India!
